Flights to Northern Cyprus
Here you will find everything you need to know to help plan your stay in North Cyprus and make it most enjoyable. In general, English is widely spoken in North Cyprus, especially in the resort areas. Entry Requirements
Citizens of the EU nations, Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand and Turkey do not require a visa on entry to North Cyprus. All other nationals should check their position with regards to entry requirements with the nearest Embassy or Office of Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. 

Languages and Religions
The majority of the Turkish Cypriots are Muslim and although very few regularly attend mosque services or wear religious attire, most celebrate religious festivals as part of their culture.

Money and Currency
The official currency in North Cyprus is the Turkish Lira, although all major currencies, such as GBP, US Dollar and Euro are commonly accepted in all shops, restaurants and tourist facilities.

Airports
There are three Airports in Cyprus. Ercan Airport in the North, and Larnaca Airport and Paphos Airport in the South. If you arrive to South Cyprus, you can easily cross the check-point to get to the North. If you are staying in Famagusta, you can cross over from the check-point in Famagusta. If you are staying on the north coast, the Nicosia check-point would be most appropriate.

Summer, Monday-Friday 7:30 – 14:00
Winter, Monday-Friday 8:30 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 17:00

Shops
Shop opening times vary depending on their type and location, though shops normally open Monday to Saturday between 07:00 and 09:00 and close at around 19:00. Some souvenir shops in major tourist resorts are open on Sundays also. Larger supermarkets are usually open 7 days a week from 7:00 until 22:00.

Health & Safety
Cyprus has no dangerous infectious diseases. Visitors do not require any vaccinations to travel to Cyprus. There are numerous public and private hospitals in North Cyprus. If you require a local doctor, check out your local newspaper, which lists the numbers of the hospitals and duty pharmacies in each area.

Transportation
Driving
Driving is on the left and traffic and road signs are international. Maximum speed is 100 km/hr. Vehicles entering North Cyprus must be insured upon arrival. Seat-belts must be worn at all times. Drinking and driving is illegal, as is using a mobile phone whilst driving.

Public Transport
An inexpensive network of buses and minibuses operates between all the main towns. There are no formal timetables in operation, but the services are frequent. In addition, there is a ‘Dolmuş’ service (shared taxis) operating on the same routes.

General Weather Info
Cyprus enjoys Mediterranean climate of hot dry summers starting in mid-May and lasting until mid-October and rainy, quite mild winters from November to mid-March. Spring and autumn are effectively short intervals in between, characterised by smooth weather. With nearly year-round clear skies and sunshine, hours of daylight ranges from 9.8 hours in December to 14.5 hours in June.

Air Humidity
During the days in winter and at night throughout the year, humidity ranges from average to slightly low (65% - 95%). During summer it is very low near midday, ranging from 15% to 30% on the central plain. Fog is rare and typically occurs in early morning. Visibility is normally very good or excellent. There is an exception over a few days in spring when the atmosphere is very hazy due to dust from the Arabian and African deserts.
